Customer Reviews
Do not buy for Garmin c3xx series
Well, I ignorantly disregarded the reviews that said this battery didn't fit the 330 or 340 and am currently paying the price. I have a c320. This battery doesn't work and their customer nonservice is absolutely stunning. One email a day is all you get even when I respnded at 6AM to one of theirs. They said they have never heard of this problem. I don't buy that because they must get copies of reviews sent to them. So if you get the right battery from them they might be okay but if you don't be prepared for long slow agonizing time delays for any response. To summarize
IF YOU HAVE THE GARMIN C3XX SERIES DO NOT, REPEAT DO NOT BUY THIS ITEM.
Exact replacement plus extraction tools!
I was excited to find an exact replacement battery for my TomTom GO300, and even more so when this arrived, and included an extraction tool, and a torx bit screwdriver! Fit right in and worked perfect. Rather than a $200 replacement TomTom, this was an "under-ten-dollar" fix, that works!
Does not "fit" Garmin 330
This is a battery pack that comes with a 3-wire cable and plug that is not compatible with the Garmin 330. Based on the previous review I doubt it will just plug in to any Garmin without modification.
The battery pack contains a 3.7 volt Li-Ion battery, a circuit board that is soldered to the battery's 2 terminals, and a 3-wire cable that is connected to the circuit board. I had to unsolder the old battery from the Garmin leaving the wires on the Garmin's plug, unsolder the circuit board from the new battery pack, and solder the Garmin's wires directly to the new battery itself. Then I had to insulate the battery so it didn't short out on one of the Garmin's speakers.
The most disappoint thing about this purchase was that the vendor's customer service had absolutely no clue what I was talking about and I wasted 4 days going back and forth with emails (they only answered once per day and don't seem to have a phone) before they finally said to send it back and they would give me a refund. At that point I figured they didn't actually have a battery for the Garmin so I just modified the one they had sent me.
