We've been big fans of Magellan's Maestro line since it came out in early 2006. The Maestro interface is incredibly easy to use, even for those who are not completely comfortable with electronics. At the same time, Magellan was ahead of the industry with useful innovations like multi-destination routing and pre-loaded reviews for points of interest like hotels and restaurants (from AAA). With its 3200 and 4200 series, Magellan has improved the Maestro line giving them a SirfStar III chipset that provides super-fast. satellite lock and making them thinner. In fact, at .7 inches, these are -- at the time of this writing (November 2007), the thinnest portable GPS navigators available. Distingushing between models is also fairly easy.

3200 and 4200 Family of Navigators
Distingushing between models is also fairly easy. The 3200-series navigators feature a 3.5-inch screen, while the 4200s have a 4.3-inch widescreen display. The 3200 and 4200 offer great, basic navigation with turn-by-turn spoken directions, pre-loade maps of the 48 contiguous United States, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico, and 1.3 million POIs. The 3210 and 4210, add maps for Canada and Alaska, AAA travel information (see details below) and bump you up to 6 million POIs. The 3220 and 4220 add maps of Mexico. The top-of-the-line 3250 and 4250 add a host of other features, including text-to-speech directions that give real street names, bluetooth for hands-free phone calls, integrated traffic (with a free 3-month subscription), and voice command.

Easy To Use Interface
The intuitive user interface makes the Maestro series incredibly easy to use. Use the big icons on the 3.5-inch touch screen to search for your destination by address, intersection, or any of 6 million points of interest (POIs), including restaurants, hotels, airports, gas stations, and more. You can even touch an onscreen icon for a nearby destination, see name and address, and get an instant route. Turn by turn visual and spoken directions guide you every step of the way.

Auto re-route gets you quickly back on track whenever you make a detour or miss a turn. QuickSpell feature intelligently searches and checks spelling when you enter addresses. The 3250 offer multiple view options, including 2D, 3D, and TrueView that shows your upcoming turn using a 3D split screen. Maneuver List displays the full turn-by-turn details of your route. Magellan Maestro 3250 Great Product at Great Price!!!!!!
I will begin with stating that I purchased this brand new from one of Amazons vendors and it was a great deal at $149.99 brand new. I received the GPS in 4 days with no shipping charges. Additionally I am receiving a free map upgrade to 2008/09 because the item is new. You should be able to take advantage of all of this by purchasing this items (don't go refurbished, no free updates).

I will start with the Pro's:
--The GPS engine is great, on par with the Garmin, very fast and recalculates very fast.
--The features are immense for the price. Where else can you get these for $149.99?
o Bluetooth
o Voice activation
o Traffic
o AAA reviews
--The size is insanely small for what it delivers. My old C320 was a tank in comparison. I can fit this into any pocket on the go.
--The brightness is great even in bright sunlight
--Unit will make a "Ding" when you reach an exit or street.

Now the Con's:
--I use to own the Garmin C320 and loved the menu interface, very easy and intuitive. The Magellan user interface is clean and relatively easy, but not as easy to find all the areas you want as the Garmin.
--The speaker is small and at full volume is kind of distorted.
--The unit doesn't tell you when it is charging so you don't know
--Customer service is hit or miss with helpfulness
--Software that comes with it is not very user friendly.

Overall I would highly recommend this unit for anyone who wants a good unit with a ton of features for a low price. Garmin is great, but so is Magellan and they pack more of a punch with features for a lower cost.

Great product
I love this for the bluetooth to phone since the law changed in California.
I would have liked some of the other features such as dialing by name.
It also picks up normal conversation in the car and says "say a command".
I would definately recommend it for anyone that wants to know how to get around.

Great gift for a turned-around mom.
I bought this for my mother for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. She has a terrible sense of direction and this was perfect for her.
She picked it up and was using it fairly quickly and my mom is about as technically un-savvy as it gets. She also has a habit of missing turns even when she knows where to turn, so the "ding" when you've reached your corner is fantastic.
I can't review it much more than that but if it pleases my mom, it can't be bad.
