Amazon.com Product Description
The Raymarine E02018 C70 6.5-inch Multifunction Navigation Display is a high-performance, multifunction marine display for leisure and work marine vehicles alike. The Raymarine C70 can provide a complete marine recreational solution with multifunctional navigation features allowing it to be used as a chartplotter, a digital fishfinder, or radar, with the ability to convert it in to an all-in-one unit as well.

The Raymarine C70 is constructed with an ultra-bright, sunlight viewable, 6.5-inch color TFT LCD display with 256-colors, a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels, and a built-in graphics coprocessor that delivers maximum display performance. This display screen utilizes prismatic light enhancing technology combined with high backlighting that provides crisp, bright color even in tropical sunlight, and allows you to create custom navigation pages arranged in either full screen, or in multiple window combinations. The C70 lets you simply page through your choice of displays, or create custom windows of any combination, so you can use it as a single function stand-alone chartplotter, radar or digital fishfinder, create a combination that suites your needs, or build a powerful all-in-one system that includes all three.

This multifunction display supports complete chartplotter features such as heads-up, north-up, or course-up charting, relative, true-motion and autorange modes, and a screen offset for a maximum look-ahead view. This chartplotter allows 1,000 waypoints with 16-character names, 100 routes with 50 waypoints per route, 10 track memories with 1,000 pts per track, and features SmartRoute which converts tracks into waypoints organized in a route. The C70's chartplotter is full of features support such as radar overlay when used with a Pathfinder radar antenna, on-screen DSC VHF position reports, and tide and currents information using Navionics Gold chart.

With an HDFI auto-adaptive digital transmitter and receiver, the C70 can be used as a powerful fishfinder that virtually eliminates clutter and automatically targets individual fish with amazing precision, as well as providing auto-adaptive control of sensitivity, ping rate and transmit power. This fishfinder features a 256 color enhanced high-resolution digital echo sounder, dual frequency 200/50 Khz operation, an A-scope real-time sonar display, a bottom lock mode, 2x, 4x, and 6x zoom magnification, and a maximum depth of up to 5,000 feet depending on conditions. This unit allows you to set multiple alarms, provides for range markers, has bottom coverage display, and has a maximum transmit rate of 1,580 pulses per minute at a 50-foot range at 1,000 to 600 watts RMS of transmitter power.

Used in conjunction with a Pathfinder radome or open-array antenna, the Raymarine C70 can become a powerful radar system with a +/- 1-degree accuracy. This radar system features two EBLS (Electronic Bearing Lines), two guard zones with selectable sensitivity levels and audible alarms, and MARPA (Mini Automatic Radar Plotting Aid) allowing you to target track vessels on the radar display. The unit includes auto GST automatic control of gain, sea clutter and tune, radar waypoint navigation and multiple waypoint overlay (0.125 to 72nm range) relative or true-motion modes, and head-up, course-up and north-up modes. The C70 also provides you with tune, rain, FTC, and sea controls, and includes a power-saving Timed Transit mode.

The all-in-one C70 multifunction high-performance navigation display consumes 9-watts of power via a 12-volt or 24-volt DC power supply. This unit is waterproof to CFR46 standards, has an operating range of 14- to 122-degrees F, and can be bracket or panel mounted via the included mounting hardware. Compact and lightweight, the Raymarine C70 weighs 2.6 pounds, and measures 9.9 x 6.89 x 4.31 inches (W x H x D).

1Classic C units obsolete
By William M. Tucker
Recently had unit freeze up. Sent back to Raymarine and they did a factory reset for $95 without finding any real problem. Purchased a AIS500 and discoverd that C70 does not support all the AIS500 active mode functions. In talking to Raymarine Tech Support they said the C70 and other classic C units are obsolete. The unit does support the tracking mode but the features a not well thought out - for example the vessel name does not show up on most displays. Software has not been updated for several years. There are better AIS and chart plotters out there.
