How It Works
Maplock provides two tiers of protection; one a visual deterrent to a break-in, while the other is physical protection of your GPS when and if the first line of defense fails. First and foremost the device is meant to be seen by potential thieves, the assumption being that a vehicle possessing obvious security features is much more likely to be passed over by thieves in favor of easier, less risky targets. To that end, Maplock comes in a variety of bright, even stylish colors. The physically protective aspects of the device are also visible for all to see. These consist of a braided stainless steel cable, one end of which loops around an edge of your steering wheel, while the other connects, via a very visible lock to the main body of the Maplock, which encloses your GPS unit. Constructed out of sturdy materials, this main body is designed to clamp diagonally around your GPS, and is compatible with virtually any automobile oriented GPS on the market with a screen size ranging from 3.5-inches to 5-inches. The contact points of the inner surface of the Maplock body are padded with rubber spacers so as to not damage the screen or finish of your GPS as it clamps tightly down and is connected to the cable attached to the steering wheel via the lock. This combination of visual deterrence and physical protection against theft that only the Maplock provides make it the right choice for any GPS owner who wants to get the most out of their navigational tool, without losing peace of mind.
